Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swimming Pool Technician to ensure the water quality and safety of swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs at all times.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment, installing and servicing water cleaning, filtering, and purification systems, and maintaining the pool area in a clean and orderly fashion while enforcing all pool safety rules and regulations.

Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • 3-year hotel engineering work experience
Key Responsibilities

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of this role:

  • Check the swimming pools' water quality and chemical levels twice daily and submit a report to the health and safety officer by the end of each day.
  • Perform deep cleaning of the pools as per scheduled and ensure that pool tiles are in good condition.
  • Transport and store hazardous chemicals.
  • Pick up trash and clean around swimming pools, restrooms, and suites.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain guest room/main swimming pools' water systems, filter systems, and keep them clean and tidy at all times.
  • Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool.
  • Maintain the pH and chlorine values for good water quality as per DM rules and regulations.
  • Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
  • Maintain the pool pumps and filters.
  • Maintain the pool area, including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to swimming pool-related work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
  • Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Transport and store hazardous chemicals.
  • Carry out scheduled water cleaning using chemicals like chlorine.
  • Regularly test swimming pool water quality and pH balance.
  • Test the chemical levels in guest room swimming pools and other water systems and adjust as needed.
  • Maintain manual or automated records of all activities and prepare daily/15-day records.
  • Pick up trash and clean around swimming pools, restrooms, and suites.
  • Operate and inspect equipment and ensure that all equipment are in good working condition.
  • Clean and service swimming pool filtration units.
  • Servicing of the solar heating system and maintain it in good condition at all times.
  • Makes sure underwater lights are in good working condition.
  • Use a swimming pool vacuum cleaner to clean the pool floor.
  • Checking and repairing corrosion, cracks, and leaks in the pool walls or floors if any report directly to the duty supervisor.
  • Use a telescopic pole with net to clean and remove any leaves or debris.
  • Making sure equipment like pool covers, diving boards, and slides are in good working order.
  • Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to the duty supervisor/chief engineer.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an efficient, organized, personable, poised, and well-groomed individual with experience in pool, spa, and fountain maintenance, including chemical use, chemical level testing, pump equipment maintenance, pool plumbing, and all other related items.

This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
