Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pipeline Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining pipelines that transport fluids across various distances and terrains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Design and Planning

    • Design and draft pipeline systems, including routing, sizing, and material selection.
    • Use software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Pipeline Studio, CAESAR II) to create and modify pipeline layouts and stress analysis models.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop project plans and ensure alignment with technical specifications.

  • Pipeline Construction Support

    • Provide on-site support during the construction of pipelines, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
    • Evaluate construction progress and troubleshoot any design or installation issues that arise.
    • Ensure that installation meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

  • Pipeline Integrity and Maintenance

    • Assist with integrity assessments, inspections, and testing (e.g., hydrostatic testing, inline inspection).
    • Support the development and implementation of pipeline maintenance schedules, ensuring longevity and safe operation.
    • Monitor the performance of pipelines using inspection and monitoring tools, helping to identify potential weaknesses or areas needing attention.

  • Risk Assessment and Safety

    • Conduct or support risk assessments, including hazard identification and consequence analysis for pipeline projects.
    • Ensure that pipelines meet safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and conduct safety audits.
    • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure that pipeline designs and operations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, API 570).
    • Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals, permits, and inspections.

  • Technical Documentation

    • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and progress reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate records of pipeline design changes, inspections, maintenance, and compliance.

  • Collaboration and Communication

    • Work closely with senior engineers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external contractors or vendors regarding pipeline design, construction, and maintenance activities.

  • Continuous Learning

    • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and standards in pipeline engineering.
    • Participate in training programs or certifications to improve engineering skills and knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong understanding of pipeline systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, stress analysis, and pipeline flow dynamics.
  • Familiarity with pipeline design software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, Pipeline Studio, or similar).
  • Ability to analyze complex engineering problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Proficient in conducting stress and flow analysis to ensure that pipeline designs meet safety and operational standards.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant discipline from recognized university.
  • Master degree in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
