Key Responsibilities

The Marine Inspector will be responsible for evaluating and ensuring that all construction activities comply with contract specifications. The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting inspections on marine projects such as dredging, rock revetment, quay walls, land reclamation, and marine edges.
  • Overseeing the demolition of transportation infrastructures including roads, streets, tunnels, and bridges.
  • Monitoring the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, and associated enhancements like curb and gutter, sidewalks, and landscaping.
  • Managing building and facility construction along with related site development.
  • Documenting daily project activities through photographs and maintaining organized files.
  • Generating Inspection Logs and Reports, and addressing Non-Conformances in collaboration with the quality assurance team.
  • Maintaining comprehensive office records pertaining to project quantities and daily diaries.
  • Preparing daily reports and other necessary documentation as stipulated by contract requirements.
  • Ensuring that only approved materials are utilized in the construction process.
  • Conducting labor compliance interviews and keeping accurate as-built plans.
  • Identifying potential conflicts and issues, reporting them to supervisors with suggested solutions.
  • Collecting and organizing Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and other relevant material information.
  • Coordinating the activities of subconsultants involved in surveying and material testing.
  • Contributing to the establishment of job safety practices and preparing safety reports.
  • Assisting in the formulation of quality control reports and procedures.
  • Reporting on installed quantities to validate payment applications and change order work.
  • Responding to emergencies at the project site as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in supervising construction projects related to Marine and Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction specifications, with a strong understanding of construction processes relevant to the assigned area.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in marine project environments is advantageous.
