About the Role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for enhancing the Commissioning discipline at McDermott by implementing best practices and addressing internal or external issues.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in walk-down inspections, punch listing, and testing at the site.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrument component issues.
  • Support the commissioning team with activities such as manual development, spares development, and procedure development.
  • Resolve operational and maintenance issues during commissioning, start-up, and performance tests.
  • Supervise craft personnel required for site pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant.
  • Good understanding of commissioning, completions, and training concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of other functions like construction and operations & maintenance.

Working Relationships

The Senior Commissioning Engineer works closely with the Commissioning Manager, Discipline Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, Construction/Fabrication team, Commissioning Engineers, Completions Specialists, Operation & Maintenance specialists, Designers, and support personnel within the function group.
