Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Associate to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide administrative, transactional and operational support in accordance with legal standards, policies and procedures.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and assist in data gathering for legal matters by referring to specialized databases, legal libraries and other sources of information.
  • Assist in the drafting of legal opinions, advice and recommendations on various legal and contractual matters to prevent risks and protect assets.
  • Review and prepare contractual documents to ensure that risks are mitigated in contract negotiations.
  • Analyze legal documents to mitigate risks and prevent disputes.
  • Prepare presentations on legal and regulatory matters to train and create awareness in the business.
Transactional and Operational Support
  • Prepare legal reports, memoranda and other documentation to meet business requirements.
  • Provide administrative support in obtaining approval for documents and activities related to governance such as registration, power of attorney, etc.
  • Develop and review standard templates and formats for legal or contractual documents.
  • Create purchase requisitions to fulfill departmental requirements.
  • Create and manage a database for tracking service entry sheets, purchase requisitions and task orders.
  • Review and prepare financial documents and invoices relating to services.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders/suppliers to obtain support services with senior management's support.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop solutions to questions or enquiries regarding legal issues.
  • Develop and review legal policies and procedures as required.
