Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare railcars for movement by unhooking and releasing hand brakes.
  • Direct transportation to facilitate the movement of railcars.
  • Provide ground support during railcar movement and ensure the area is clear of obstacles.
  • Drive pilot and/or rear pilot car to escort seavan carrier.
  • Switch rail direction by setting rail switches.
  • Break seals on railcars using hand tools.
  • Ensure receiving inspection has pulled paperwork and given authorization to unload incoming freight.
  • Disassemble Shipping Mechanical Equipment (SME) support braces.
  • Move crane lift fittings and accessories using electric stackers.
  • Prepare empty railcars, seavans, and containers for return shipping.
  • Couple and uncouple associated equipment to prepare for transportation movement.
  • Assemble and attach fittings to Transportation Mechanical Equipment (TME) using hand tools.
  • Work with crane crew to unload large Major Outside Production (MOP) items.
  • Load and unload trucks/trailers of SMEs, TMEs, and/or MOP parts.
Requirements
  • Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift 35 to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

This is a 100% onsite position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.
