Job Description

The Product Applications Specialist plays a critical role in providing technical support to our sales team, driving business retention and expansion in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industry (CPI) and Hydrocarbon Process Industry (HPI) spaces.

This role requires strong technical communication skills to collaborate with and influence the sales team, ensuring we pursue the right business opportunities. The Specialist will work closely with our European and Global teams to define market needs and evaluate new product introductions to meet regional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical support to the commercial sales team in HPI and CPI, including traveling to carry out field support on production sites.
  2. Understand our process chemicals, equipment, and service offerings.
  3. Develop corrective action plans and communicate with the commercial team to address individual customer concerns.
  4. Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization.
  5. Conduct technical audits in existing accounts and survey prospect accounts with the Product Applications and Sales teams.
  6. Provide technical troubleshooting and equipment inspection support at key CPI/HPI accounts.
  7. Communicate the differentiable aspects of Veolia's chemical treatment and services programs to customers, including participating in technical seminars and presentations.
  8. Communicate technical accomplishments through internal and external publications, presentations, and patents.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
  2. Knowledge of CPI and HPI industries.
  3. Strong computer skills, including data analysis and statistical bases using Excel or Google Sheets.
  4. Ability to work with process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, PDSs, and H&M balances.
  5. Fluent in English language – written & verbal.
  6. Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment, requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and other similar irritants.
  7. High energy and detail-oriented with creative problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work with remote cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  9. Self-motivated, eager to learn new skills, and confident enough to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Driving license.
