Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  1. Medication Management: Assist clients with taking prescribed medication as directed by their healthcare providers.
  2. Mobility Support: Help clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside, including accompanying them to doctor's appointments and walks.
  3. Personal Care and Hygiene: Assist clients with personal care and hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  4. Physical Therapy Assistance: Help clients with physical therapy exercises to maintain their strength and mobility.
  5. Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  6. Shopping and Errands: Accompany clients on shopping trips or perform errands on their behalf.
  7. Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties that clients are unable to complete on their own.
  8. Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in activities that promote their mental and emotional well-being.
  9. Incident Reporting: Report any unusual incidents or concerns to the client's healthcare provider or FallenAmbers management.
  10. Emergency Response: Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency, following established protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Proven experience as a caregiver, preferably in a similar setting.
  2. Emergency Response and First Aid: Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid procedures, including CPR certification.
  3. Housekeeping and Cooking: Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking techniques, with attention to dietary constraints.
  4. Health and Safety: Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, including infection control and fall prevention.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
  6. Time Management: Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  7. Physical Endurance: Physical endurance to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
  8. Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on healthcare or a related field.
