At HALCON, we are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer 1 to join our team. As a key member of our engineering development team, you will play a crucial role in the selection, manufacturing, and processing of composite and polymeric materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with technical customers and project teams to determine their materials and testing requirements.
  • Optimize existing materials manufacturing processes and technical capabilities through evaluation and recommendations.
  • Monitor and advise on quality standards in manufacturing and finishing of parts and components.
  • Provide a scope of materials testing services to all companies under the Group.
  • Lead/participate in materials-related R&D projects as and when required.
  • Liaise with Technical teams to expand HALCON's internal digital materials database.
  • Assist with product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products.
  • Ensure that all projects and tasks are documented in accordance with engineering standards.
  • Ensure that all projects and tasks are in accordance with procedures for health and safety.
  • Compile thorough documents, manuals, materials investigations, and technical reports on testing procedures and test results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consult with third parties like external materials suppliers, materials manufacturing companies, etc. to leverage their specialized skills and partnerships wherever required.
  • Contribute to the development of new projects and grants by conducting literature searches and experimental research.
  • Supervise and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering subject.
  • Intermediate analytical thinking, problemsolving, knowledge of different materials and their applications, attention to detail, knowledge and experience of materials testing techniques, communicating and influencing, managing materials-related R&D projects, customer focus, and technical report writing skills.
