Job Description

Detailed Job Information:

  • Reports To: Head of Audit - Legal, Compliance and Financial Crime Risk
  • Job Purpose:

To contribute to the development and maintenance of a strategic audit plan for Group Functions and Risk audit teams across the Group. Oversee the execution and delivery of regional audits, with specific responsibility for Group Compliance, Group Financial Crime Risk, and Group Legal (L&C). Provide assurance as needed to Group senior management that business processes and controls are appropriate and functioning effectively.

Audit Planning and Execution

  • Manage audits across the Middle East and Africa regions, including participation in key Legal, Compliance, and Financial Crime audits or support for work led by other teams from planning to reporting.
  • Contribute to Global Product/Function Risk Assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs for updates of Master Risk Control Matrix.
  • Engage with Regional Product/Function stakeholders, particularly in WB and CB Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Attend Regional level Audit Report Review Committees for relevant audits.
  • Input into Global Product/Function permanent audit files.
  • Review all Product/Function audit reports.
  • Develop Regional themes contributing to Group-level themes.
  • Carry out Quality Assurance on audit work related to the product/function.
  • Contribute to training and continuous monitoring/testing across the region.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experienced internal auditor or business professional with deep subject matter expertise in Regulatory or Financial Crime Risk and working knowledge of legal risk.
  • Strong communicator able to convey balanced messages and influence.
  • Credible within counterparts in the business.
  • Up-to-date with developments.
