About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As an Occupational Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs and policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and analysis of root causes and contributing factors.
  • Deliver training sessions on safety best practices and promote a culture of safety awareness among employees.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, local regulations, and international safety standards, staying up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry developments.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and prepare regular reports for management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, providing expert guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws and safety standards, with ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to think critically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and educate employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) highly desirable, with willingness to pursue further certification as needed.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification, with ability to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting.
  • Proven track record in incident investigation and reporting, with ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices, with ability to stay current with emerging trends and developments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed, with ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and composure under pressure.
