Job Description

Gulftainer is seeking a highly skilled Scania Workshop Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our terminal equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all terminal equipment, including Scania vehicles and machinery.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
  • Equipment Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and recommendations for new and existing equipment, including installation, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by implementing efficient and safe methods of work in the port and around workshops.
  • Equipment Servicing: Perform servicing and repairs on port ship-to-shore cranes, rubber-tyred gantry cranes, and rail-mounted gantry cranes, as well as associated equipment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Scania workshop mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
  • Strong knowledge of Scania vehicles and machinery, as well as other terminal equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
