About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer to join our team at Asterix Communications. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of projects and providing technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute assigned scopes of work, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  2. Support and supervise task delegation to team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  3. Provide discipline expertise to the business, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
  4. Participate in project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops, contributing to the development of robust safety protocols.
  5. Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline, leveraging your expertise to drive project success.
  6. Coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up, ensuring seamless project execution.
  7. Provide technical support to site teams as required, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
  8. Produce and review specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations, ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems.
Requirements
  1. BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
  2. Experience of Concept / FEED / EPC project phases, with a proven track record of delivering projects safely and on time.
  3. Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position, with a strong understanding of technical safety engineering methodologies.
  4. Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 6 years proven capability in an EPC company.
  5. Previous experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance would be an advantage.
  6. Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
  7. Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
