Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team at Parker Connect. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery and documentation of steel products and related goods, while maintaining a proactive and action-oriented approach.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Delivery and Documentation: Perform safe delivery and documentation for export, import, and offshore transactions in accordance with internationally accepted rules and regulations.
  2. Client and Supplier Communication: Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers to ensure contractual commitments are fulfilled.
  3. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics companies to ensure timely deliveries meet customer needs.
  4. Shipping Document Creation: Check and create shipping documents (invoice, bill of lading, insurance certificate, inspection certificate, etc.) in a clean, concise, and prompt manner.
  5. Support to Sales Staff: Provide support to front sales staff and/or department GM, undertaking necessary work for department business.

Relationships:

The Logistics Assistant will develop relationships with steel products suppliers/customers, logistics/insurance companies, agents/consultants, counterpart staff in overseas units and subsidiaries/affiliates, and relevant corporate divisions such as Legal, Finance, Accounting, Corporate Admin, Risk Management, etc.


Requirements:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of INCOTERMS.
  • Advanced command of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and use initiative.
  • Knowledge of overall trade transactions, credit management, finance/accounting, logistics, and legal affairs.

Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in logistics and inventory management, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry. Demonstrable experience of managing Purchase Orders and Invoicing. Proven ability to manage long-term contracts and prepare L/Cs and negotiable documents.

Education: An undergraduate degree is desirable but not essential.
