About the Role

K2 Integrity is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to play a critical role in our Financial Crimes Risk Management practice in the Middle East. As a Fraud Prevention Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis and programming to identify and prevent fraudulent activities, while also contributing to other exciting financial crime projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine fraud detection models and rules to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential indicators of fraud.
  • Fine-tune fraud rules and parameters to achieve an optimal balance between minimizing false positives and maximizing true positive detection.
  • Implement and evaluate model performance using ROC curves, precision-recall curves, and cost-based analysis.
  • Leverage Python and SQL to automate data extraction, cleaning, transformation, and analysis processes.
  • Craft clear, concise reports and presentations that transform complex data insights into compelling narratives to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other data analysts, financial crime experts, and stakeholders to share insights and coordinate efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in Python (SAS, VBA would be a plus).
  • Proven experience in fraud analytics (Relevant certifications in data analysis or fraud prevention would be an advantage).
