This position requires evaluating adherence to safety standards, conducting RSET and ASET calculations, and simulating various fire dynamics scenarios, including smoke movement and the impacts of fire suppression technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Atrium Smoke Management Design:
Develop and enhance smoke control systems for atrium environments.
Execute simulations to verify effective smoke management and safe evacuation procedures.

Tunnel Ventilation Analysis:
Design and assess tunnel ventilation systems to ensure fire safety.
Perform simulations to evaluate the effectiveness of ventilation strategies during fire incidents.

Safety Compliance Evaluation:
Identify and guarantee compliance with safety regulations regarding travel distances and evacuation pathways.
Conduct RSET (Required Safe Egress Time) and ASET (Available Safe Egress Time) assessments.

Fire Dynamics Simulation:
Conduct CFD modeling of fire dynamics, gas dispersion, smoke movement, and the effects of fire suppression systems.
Analyze heat transfer and structural responses during fire scenarios.

Fire Mitigation Solutions Evaluation:
Evaluate various fire mitigation strategies, including passive fire protection, fixed fire suppression systems, and mechanical solutions.
Propose effective mitigation approaches based on simulation outcomes.

Research and Data Analysis:
Investigate and interpret published research, technological data, and fire test results related to alternative fuel cell technologies and fire dynamics.
Stay informed about the latest developments in fire safety engineering.

Documentation and Reporting:
Document the design, development, and analysis processes in comprehensive engineering reports, presentations, and diagrams.
Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to the project team and stakeholders.

Evacuation Scenario Modeling:
Model pedestrian egress and evacuation scenarios to ensure safe and efficient evacuation during fire emergencies.
Analyze and optimize evacuation routes and strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline.
Extensive experience with CFD tools such as FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator), Pyrosis, or similar software.
Strong knowledge of fire dynamics, smoke movement, and fire suppression systems.
Proficiency in heat transfer and structural response modeling.
Familiarity with safety regulations and standards related to fire safety.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with pedestrian egress and evacuation modeling software such as Pathfinder or STEPS.
Knowledge of prescriptive codes (model codes) and experience in writing and reviewing technical reports and research publications.
