We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Procurement Specialist/Category Buyer to join our team at Kerry Group plc. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and executing regional sourcing activities to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining and improving product quality and vendor service levels.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic procurement of raw materials, packaging, and indirect services required by the business on time, cost efficiently, and meeting business needs.
- Support the supply chain function and other relevant departments, communicating any supply problems that may impact business operations.
- Closely collaborate with finance and relevant departments on up-to-date commodity pricing information.
- Negotiate contracts, improve pricing and terms of purchase with suppliers, and review new opportunities to make business savings.
- Track commodity prices and make strategic buying decisions based on factual market and economic data.
- Investigate, lead, and deliver cost-saving projects that deliver real value to the business and P&L.
- Track performance of SKU and category spend in terms of PPV and consistently look for ways to reduce cost.
- Lead local vendor selection and negotiations for METP vendors.
- Lead the search for new vendors/raw materials required within the region.
- Consistently look for ways to improve and streamline processes to continuously improve and add value to the business.
- Lead and execute e-tenders for spend categories in the METP region.
- Collaborate with counterparts on APMEA regional and global teams on tenders and projects where appropriate.
- Lead category strategy development and execution for selected raw material, packaging, and IMAS categories.
- Provide local market intelligence, including documented sourcing analyses, supply scenario comparisons, and supplier research.
- Analyze spend patterns across the region and provide constructive challenge to stakeholders on their spending decisions.
- Cross-functionally collaborate in the region and globally to implement strategic category-sourcing initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university with a minimum of 4 years of regional procurement-specific experience in a global, manufacturing organization (direct procurement).
- Experience working in the FMCG industry.
- Experience in running e-tenders and managing and forecasting commodity prices.
- Proven track record in risk management, strategic procurement, negotiation, and achievement of cost reductions.
- English fluency essential, Arabic a plus.
- SAP knowledge a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong engagement, partnership, and matrix management skills that reflect The Kerry Way and Kerry Values.
- Excellent at linking insights and trends into sourcing and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time.
- Highly creative mindset to suggest new approaches and solutions to current situations/challenges.
