  • Coordinating Works in Progress: Collaborate with Ship Repair Managers to coordinate electrical works in progress, ensuring seamless execution of projects.
  • Electrical Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Identify, select, and fit marine-type glands, cables, cable trays, electrical panels, and cabinets, including earthing and equipment in hazardous areas.
  • Electrical Testing and Inspection: Select and use basic electrical test equipment, including meggers, phase sequence meters, and multimeters, to ensure electrical systems are functioning correctly.
  • Worksite Discipline and Safety: Exercise discipline at the worksite to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices, and idleness, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Resource Optimization: Liaise with other discipline foremen and supervision to optimize the utilization of available resources, ensuring successful project completion.
  • Progress Reporting: Create daily progress reports, communicating significant information to supervisors, including manpower requirements and resource shortfalls/surplus, and addressing HSEQ concerns on site.
  • Planning and Coordination: Assist senior foremen and supervisors in planning activities, ensuring effective execution of projects.
  • Equipment and Tool Management: Ensure workers are properly supplied with machinery, tools, equipment, and materials, and that everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Perform inspections to ensure workers' performance meets set standards.
  • Operational Continuity: Follow day-to-day operations related to the job to ensure continuity of work.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience: 2 years trade apprentice course and 5-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years' experience as Leadman or Foreman.
