Covanta is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Intern to join our team in Chicago's West Loop. As a Health and Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Midwest Region H&S Leader and gain valuable experience in health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety projects to drive improvement in site safety
  • Conduct data analysis and site visits to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Midwest H&S Team to develop programs and recommendations for site safety improvements
  • Participate in leadership talks, skill-building workshops, facility tours, and networking events with fellow interns

Requirements:

  • Current student pursuing a Master's in Environment, Health, and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive and motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work on-site in Chicago's West Loop and travel to sites in the region
