Job Description

Actalent is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Safety Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of nuclear safety documentation and nuclear/chemical safety program implementation for activities within the department. The role involves working on design completion for the HLW nuclear facility, applying broad and diversified knowledge of nuclear principles to project engineering, and collaborating with various engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will also be involved in safety basis document development, hazard analysis activities, preparation of safety analysis, and leading multidisciplinary teams to finalize the HLW Safety Basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain nuclear safety documentation and nuclear/chemical safety program implementation for activities within the Nuclear Safety Engineering Department.
  • Work on design completion for the HLW nuclear facility, applying broad and diversified knowledge of nuclear principles to project engineering.
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Develop safety basis documents, conduct hazard analysis, and prepare safety analysis reports.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to finalize the HLW Safety Basis.

Requirements:

  • 9-13 years of experience in Nuclear Engineering.
  • Design experience with Radiological/Chemical process systems.
  • Experience preparing Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) and Chemical Safety Management Program elements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues.
  • Decision-making concerning problems within the nuclear discipline.
  • Leadership in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Innovation and strategic problem-solving.
