About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Meta, where you will play a key role in the development of complex electrical systems for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Development: Own the electrical development of highly complex systems, ensuring that electrical systems meet product goals and deliver high-quality results.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead electrical architecture definition or provide technical leadership to a larger development team, driving innovation and excellence in electrical design.
  • Design and Development: Design schematics, direct board layout, lead cross-functional design reviews, and draft design documentations to ensure seamless product development.
  • Feasibility Studies and Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components, proposing innovative solutions to enhance product performance and features.
  • Bring-up and Debug: Manage bring-up and debug, support manufacturing and assembly build, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate in a team environment, working across engineering disciplines to develop systems and manage trade-offs across electronics, mechanics, optics, sensors, haptics, firmware, and software.
  • Distributed Team Environment: Work in a distributed team environment, leveraging technology to facilitate collaboration and communication.
  • Community Building: Contribute to building and sustaining internal Meta community through recruitment, mentorship, allyship, and a commitment to Meta's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Prioritization and Conflict Resolution: Inform prioritization of work across teams and disciplines and actively participate in resolving technical conflicts.
  • Travel: Travel both domestically and internationally, as required.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: 6+ years of industry experience in electrical design.
  • Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Electrical Engineering Fundamentals: Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Schematic and Board Design: Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent.
  • Test Equipment: Experience with use of oscilloscopes, high-speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators.
  • Technologies: Experience working with multiple technologies, including digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management System.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors against project plans.
  • Technical Communication: Proven technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Additional Experience: 12+ years of industry experience in electrical design.
  • Audio Technologies: Experience with audio technologies.
  • High-Speed Signaling: Experience with high-speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS, and UFS.
  • IMUs/Sensor Systems: Experience with IMUs/sensor physical sensor systems with an understanding of calibration methods.
  • Vision Systems: Experience with vision systems.
  • Programming Languages: Experience programming in languages like Python or C/C++.
  • Circuit Design: Experience with circuit design in high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic-based development.
  • Manufacturing Tests: Experience developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer products.
  • System Architecture: Experience defining system architecture based on product specification.
  • Consumer Electronics: Consumer Electronics experience and/or working within a mass production environment.
