Job Summary
  • We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to provide user support to engineering, procurement, and site/construction teams at McDermott International, Ltd.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal users to address and solve business and application needs.
  • Responsibilities will include writing functional specifications, designing and testing developed reports, and assisting with user training.
  • The successful candidate will also serve as a functional lead and/or PM on IT projects, working closely with various business units to upgrade Smart Plant Materials and provide follow-up support.
  • Additional responsibilities will include solving user problems, identifying areas of opportunity, and managing project setup according to company and client requirements.
  • Experience in project creation processes aligned with other DABACON applications (AVEVA Diagram, AVEVA Engineering) is highly desirable, as is a good understanding of AVEVA Global setup for internal multi-location/external client projects.
  • The ideal candidate will also have experience managing AVEVA Global and Extract Databases, coordinating with leads to set up global projects, and assisting the design team in preparing 3D modeling procedures and implementation plans.
  • Responsibilities will also include preparing all required documentation (application and project setup plans) according to McDermott requirements and project requirements, creating new catalogues for projects as per vendor data for piping, structural, and E&I, and configuring structural joints and fittings in E3D and PDMS.
  • Liaising with 3D model coordinators for smooth project functioning, supporting/designing team for all modeling issues (all disciplines), and setting up clash management (SQL/Oracle) and running clash reports according to project schedules.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for generating various reports from the 3D model according to project requirements, working with SRD teams to load E3D specifications and coordinate to solve issues with SRD teams, and coordinating with design teams for MTOs (for input into SRD) and other reports (weight reports, COG, etc.).
  • Experience in developing and configuring project-specific customizations and configurations using PML is highly desirable, as is a good understanding of MDS Module and E3D Support Module to build new custom company, client, and project-specific support configurations for piping and trays, including support drawings configurations and supports report extraction.
  • The ideal candidate will also be responsible for setting up support configurations and customization using MDS in PDMS and Supports Module in E3D to enable supports modeling and drawing extraction, coordinating with all disciplines to configure and create 2D drawing automation to ensure 2D drawings from 3D models are automated to the maximum, and setting up and configuring drawing styles and rulesets for extraction of various types of 2D drawings for various disciplines in DRAW Module of E3D and DRAFT in PDMS.
  • Expertise in line-locking workflow using DAC Access Control to manage element lock and release in Administration Module for E3D/PDMS Global Extract DB environment between locations is highly desirable, as is the ability to coordinate with Systems Leads to maintain global catalogues and set up progress measurement gates, generate weekly progress reports for 3D administration, create local backups of running projects as necessary, and ensure that project databases are cleaned up and merged periodically.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating regular review/NavisWorks files of the 3D model and having good exposure to Schematic Model Manager configuration to compare/update 3D-P&ID.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in IT supporting EPCI business applications as a lead or administrator, and a strong understanding of IT project management methodology, communication, and process development and documentation.
  • The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of business units or processes supported by the application, in-depth knowledge of how the application software has been set up and integrated to support business needs, and the ability to conduct functional testing of the application.
  • Experience working with 2D CAD applications and their configurations, as well as good exposure to detail engineering in any of the engineering disciplines (piping, structural, E&I), is highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be able to understand requirements from all disciplines and be able to support the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT supporting EPCI business applications as a lead or administrator
  • 8+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in PDMS & MDS administration and 5+ years of experience in E3D administration
  • Managed and administered large-size projects (with 30+ users) executed using the E3D and Global E3D Projects
  • Exposure to AVEVA Global Administration for E3D Projects, configuration using PML essential
  • Strong skills in communication, developing and documenting requirements and specifications, development and planning of processes to solve user's business and application needs, and IT project management methodology
  • Good communication skills

  • In-depth understanding of how the application software has been set up and integrated to support business needs
  • Ability to conduct functional testing of the application
