We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oil & Gas Controls Engineer to join our team at Wood PLC. Based in Abu Dhabi, this exciting opportunity will see you working on critical projects for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering Instrument and Controls Systems, ensuring they meet all applicable engineering codes and standards, as well as client policies and procedures. This role will involve coordinating with the I&C team, reporting to Project or Engineering Managers, and supporting planning, scheduling, and execution of discipline activities and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering of Instrument and Controls Systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Coordinate with the I&C team to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Develop and implement project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates
  • Manage budgets and track progress against project milestones
  • Identify areas of concern and recommend corrective actions as necessary
  • Liaise with licensors, equipment vendors, and OEMs to conclude project deliverables
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure conflict-free design development
  • Provide technical support to site teams during material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change processes both technically and financially
  • Participate in project safety and design reviews as necessary
  • Deliver high-quality work without compromise to schedule or quality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics from an accredited university
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including 5+ years in GCC region
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, managing teams of Senior Engineers and Engineers
  • Offshore experience is mandatory, while ADNOC experience is desirable
  • Fully coherent in international codes and standards
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is required
  • Thorough knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G, and SCADA systems commonly used in major Brownfield oil/gas offshore projects
  • Previous experience working in the Middle East would be advantageous
