Key Responsibilities:

This role involves managing a team of supervisors, coordinating with stakeholders, and delivering project outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Liaising with Main Contractors, Consultants, Client, and internal departments to ensure project deliverables are met.
  2. Coordinating with Junior Engineers and Supervisors to quantify material and labor requirements, arrange orders, and plan labor/subcontractors.
  3. Monitoring daily productivity, comparing with planned targets, and taking corrective actions for losses.
  4. Managing installation and construction work, maintaining efficient standards of workmanship.
  5. Maximizing the use of plant and equipment within the organization.
  6. Liaising with local authorities as required.

Cost Management

The successful candidate will also be responsible for cost management aspects, including:
  1. Coordinating with QS to capture variation works, notify delays, and make effective claims to increase budgeted project margins.
  2. Exploring value engineering solutions that benefit all stakeholders and improve budgeted profit margins.
  3. Tracking progress on shop drawings, vendor finalization, and material submissions.
  4. Seeking resolution on complex technical problems to ensure satisfactory completion of design and construction.
  5. Verifying actual equipment loads with IFC's and notifying changes.
  6. Liaising with authorities for approvals and staying up-to-date on current regulations and standards.

Quality/Standards

The Mechanical Systems Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality and standards by:
  1. Applying internal engineering and construction standards, operating procedures, specifications, and templates consistently across projects.
  2. Maintaining a Lessons learnt register, exchanging technical information, and learnings within the organization.
  3. Developing Method Statements for each activity aligned with Project Specifications.
  4. Preparing Project Closeout Documentations.

Health, Safety & Environment

The Mechanical Systems Manager will ensure all company and subcontract personnel comply with AFE HSE Policy, report personal injuries and incidents, actively support safety initiatives, and complete JSAs as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess sound knowledge in Mechanical engineering design, regulations, project planning, project management, and cost management. A degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in MEP Contracting Companies, with 3 years in UAE, are essential.
