The Principal Analyst for SEC Reporting plays a pivotal role in steering the organization's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance initiatives. This position encompasses the design, execution, and oversight of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to guarantee adherence to SOX mandates. The Compliance Lead collaborates closely with various divisions, external auditors, and senior leadership to ensure that the company's financial operations are not only effective but also compliant with regulatory standards.

This role offers a competitive salary range of 120K-125K plus bonuses and requires in-office presence only two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, implement, and sustain the SOX compliance framework, which includes conducting risk assessments, designing controls, testing, and addressing any deficiencies.
  • Supervise the documentation of financial processes and internal controls, ensuring alignment with SOX standards.
  • Plan and carry out regular evaluations of internal controls, identify weaknesses, and collaborate with process owners to rectify issues.
  • Provide training and support to process owners and other stakeholders regarding SOX compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors during SOX evaluations and audits, ensuring a smooth and accurate exchange of information.
  • Compile and present reports on SOX compliance status, control weaknesses, and remediation actions to senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Remain informed about updates in SOX regulations and industry best practices, continuously enhancing the company's internal control framework.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. CPA, CIA, or CISA certification is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in a Public Accounting Firm; experience with Big 4 firms is highly regarded.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SOX requirements and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in utilizing audit and compliance software tools.
