The Brand Communications Manager plays a crucial role in developing and executing ongoing media and community engagement strategies. CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; with a minimum of 2 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a similar professional area.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Enhancing Brand and Property Visibility

  • Collaborates with local, regional, and national resources to enhance visibility and promote the property and its offerings.
  • Engages new media outlets and travel journalists.
  • Identifies optimal opportunities for the property based on market trends and specific needs.
  • Utilizes creative marketing strategies to secure maximum exposure through travel journalists and media platforms.
  • Increases awareness within the travel media community and coordinates events to boost visibility and revenue.
  • Supports social media initiatives as applicable.
  • Works with online media to promote the brand.
  • Coordinates promotional offers and information for all publications and brand loyalty communications.
  • Develops marketing brochures and collateral materials.
  • Participates in all branding initiatives (e.g., signage).
  • Ensures consistent messaging across all public relations and communication efforts.

Building Strong Relationships

  • Fosters and strengthens relationships with existing and potential travel writers and local media to ensure ongoing exposure. Activities include calls, entertainment, familiarization trips, and trade shows.
  • Develops community relationships to expand the customer base for sales opportunities and additional revenue.
  • Conducts outreach and follow-up calls to media contacts.
  • Identifies and engages distribution channels that can help sell distressed inventory to enhance occupancy.
  • Provides creative tools to assist in the public relations and communications of the property.
  • Assists in developing promotional campaigns.

Coordinating Communication Strategies

  • Delivers accurate and effective communications to visiting journalists regarding publicity or promotions.
  • Evaluates new public relations opportunities for the property.
  • Develops a strategic public relations plan that encompasses group, leisure, and local initiatives.
  • Assists in managing media visits for individuals and groups.
  • Coordinates community service activities that align with the public image and needs of the organization.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate branding standards in all collateral materials.
  • Supports the creation of press releases and other content for print and digital media.

Delivering Exceptional Service

  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively addresses guest concerns and complaints.
  • Monitors service behaviors of staff and provides constructive feedback to enhance service performance.
  • Conducts site visits with media representatives.
