Job Summary:

Stantec is seeking a skilled Civil Inspector to support our construction supervision project related to water pumping stations and pipelines in Abu Dhabi. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Delivery:
    • Interact with clients and contractors to determine and verify project requirements.
    • Prepare inspection reports and site records.
    • Perform civil and structural tests.
    • Provide general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
    • Identify non-conforming works, generate reports, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems and perform basic design calculations as required.
    • Conduct technical feasibility studies and site investigations.
    • Liaise with teams working remotely to facilitate completion of tasks and projects.
  • Client Service Management:
    • Internal and external client liaison.
    • Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
    • Experience in utility diversions and management.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
    • Complete all work in line with Stantec's Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree in Engineering from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience.
  • Experience with pump stations, deep excavations, NDRC utilities diversions, dewatering, pavement/road works, and pipelines.
