Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Specialist to join our Engineering Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and automating Dabacon E3D & Tekla interface processes for Engineering, integrating with enterprise engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process Automation

Develop and automate Dabacon E3D & Tekla interface processes for Engineering, integrating with enterprise engineering systems (Aveva, Autodesk, Trimble & In-house).

Liaison and Requirements Definition

Responsible for liaising with Engineering SME's to identify requirements for business process improvement & defining the Requirement Definition Specification.

Automation Development

Translate the requirement specifications into Aveva and E3D/PDMS automation using the best practices defined by Aveva, Trimble, and Petrofac GMS (Global Business Management System).

Training and Rollout

Train end users & roll out the developments as standard methodology across projects and prepare relevant GMS procedures.

Change Management

Manage the process of change with respect to E3D/PDMS, Tekla automation routines & carry out impact analysis prior to implementing the change and support end users for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.

Technical Expertise

Experience in Tekla modelling and steel detailing.

Project Management

Provide clear plans and goal setting in managing the assigned activities.

Problem Solving

Solve problems and troubleshoot critical issues on E3D/PDMS projects.

Vendor Management

Engage with software vendors & stay up to date with the latest version of the application.

Client Interface

Interface with Clients & JV partners to manage project delivery.

Strategic Support

Provide strategic support and input into the overall engineering vision and development plan.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  1. Education and Experience

Bachelor of Engineering Degree from an accredited College or University and having 6+ years of experience in a 3D automation role in a head office environment.

Industry Knowledge

Understanding of business processes from FEED to EPC and having worked in the oil and gas industry.

Technical Skills

Preference will be given to candidates who have business process know-how & development in Tekla in addition to expertise with 3D tools.

Engineering Knowledge

Knowledge of engineering activities in relation to 3D systems.

Automation Expertise

Excellent knowledge of E3D and PDMS automation, customization of catalogues, drawings, libraries, and standards.

Data Structure Knowledge

Knowledge of DABACON data structure.

Programming Skills

Comprehensive programming expertise using PML, PML.NET, C#, SQL queries.

API Development

Creation of APIs, scripts, or new features for a wide range of products such as Trimble, Autodesk, or any other in-house products.

Teamwork

Must be able to work independently and play an active role in the team developing PML codes and interfaces as per GMS standards and Petrofac best practices.

Integration Expertise

Able to develop logic to integrate E3D/PDMS with other products & legacy systems.

CAD Knowledge

Knowledge of Aveva ERM, Navisworks, Tekla, and its metadata.

CAD Applications

Knowledge of CAD applications such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and systems such as smart plant tools.

Corporate Standards

Develop and maintain Corporate Standard Project Setup.

Prioritization and Scheduling

Prioritization of business demand & scheduling.

Problem Solving

Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive and logical approach.
