Job Summary:
Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Professional to join our team as a Safety Officer - HSE Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of Corporate HSE Management ethics and policies across our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement HSE Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with Safety Managers, Contractors, and other stakeholders to improve and implement Corporate HSE Management ethics.
- Monitor HSE Performance: Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Review Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessment Plans: Review and monitor Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessment Plans for all key activities and ensure the effectiveness of hazard control measures.
- Conduct Safety Meetings: Organize and conduct regular safety meetings to discuss HSE issues, set targets, and review progress.
- Review Incident/Accident Investigation Reports: Review and analyze incident/accident investigation reports to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required to support the HSE function and contribute to the success of Parsons Oman.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum Diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
- Certifications and Training: Recognized Health and Safety education, certifications (ADVETI), license or training in UAE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHAD - Qudorat, First Aid, Fire Safety, etc.).
- Experience: At least 7+ years of construction supervision experience working as a Safety Officer.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, policies, and procedures; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Construction Supervision: At least 3 years of recent experience in construction supervision of infrastructure work.
- Relevant Experience in Engineering Consulting: Preferably with relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm.
- Experience in the UAE: Preferably with experience in the UAE, and having a driving license is an advantage.
