Job Description

About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a skilled Fire Door Estimator to join our team. As a Fire Door Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing architectural plans and preparing quantity needs for Steel Doors and Ironmongery.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review architectural plans to identify quantity needs for Steel Doors and Ironmongery.
  2. Price and forecast the cost of materials essential for Steel Doors and Ironmongery in line with Fire and Building Standards.
  3. Estimate and price Steel Doors in line with Civil Defense Requirements based on location.
  4. Propose suitable ironmongery for Steel Doors and Wooden Doors based on door location.
  5. Prepare Door and Ironmongery Schedule from architectural floor plans in accordance with project specifications.
  6. Provide accurate cost estimates for fire door projects based on specifications and drawings.
  7. Analyze project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  8. Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  9. Generate detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment.
  10. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on fire door specifications and installation.
  11. Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders to address concerns or issues.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire door installations.
  13. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share knowledge with team members.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of fire door installations and a keen eye for detail. You should be able to analyze project requirements and identify potential risks and opportunities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also essential.
