The role of the Mechanical Systems Engineer is crucial in ensuring that all Mechanical, Plumbing, and HVAC equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The engineer serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third-party vendors. Data center equipment supporting mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment and keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of HVAC (DDC, BMS, Control system), Plumbing & ELV equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility Mechanical systems.
  • Maintain and operate all Mechanical/HVAC related systems and associated equipment, including the building management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per site requirements and close the job cards assigned by the Engineer.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Mechanical systems (Generators, Chillers, Pumps, Motors, Bearings).
  • Good knowledge of cooling systems (HVAC, Chillers, VRV, FAHU, IRU, FWU).
  • Good knowledge of ELV Systems (DDC, BMS, Control system).
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical systems and associated tools and equipment.
