We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Engineer - Data Center Operations to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations team, you will be responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining facilities and managing related projects at our large-scale, high-density data centers.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and monitor building systems, troubleshoot facility issues, and improve operation efficiency and energy savings.
- Plan and perform regular maintenance and repairs with vendors and partners, ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and procedures.
- Verify electrical cooling capacity before new capacity installation and connect power whips during equipment installation.
- Review designs for new data center construction and existing data center expansions, collaborating with project team members to support construction and testing.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience with operating and maintaining mission-critical equipment.
- Experience or basic understanding of maintenance, change management, incident management, vendor management, and adherence to policies, processes, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2) and English (TOEIC 550 or equivalent).
- Certifications relevant to data centers (CDCP, CDCS, CDCE, ASHRAE, etc.) or certifications for managing data centers (Type II Chief Electrical Engineer, Qualified Energy Manager, Type 4 Hazardous Materials Engineer, Refrigeration Machinery Manager, 2nd Class Qualified Certified Electrician).
- Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, ITILv2, BICSI).
- Strong ability to understand electrical and mechanical systems, including supply systems, transformers, switchgears, VFI-class UPS, DRUPS, PDU, ATS, STS, SLA or VRLA battery and related systems, fuel systems, surge control circuits, active harmonic filters, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, SCADA systems.
