Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Specialist to join our team at Wood. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely management of project costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management: Develop and maintain project cost plans, including the creation of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control cost commitments and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project estimates and budgets.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with project management, procurement, finance, and time-capture functions to ensure accurate and timely capture of costs, and to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget, schedule, and cost forecast.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project cost performance reports and updates to project stakeholders, including project cost forecasts and cost impact of project manpower forecasts.
  • Change Management: Coordinate the development and issue of project change orders and variations, and assess and communicate the cost and schedule impact of change notifications.
  • Contingency Management: Monitor and report on the cost impact of project contingency drawdown.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Attend project and client meetings to present project cost performance status and provide updates to stakeholders.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of cost management principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
