  • Support consultants/sub-consultants and contractors on MEP works, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and statutory authority requirements.
  • Review contractors' shop drawings, programs, and progress, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
  • Review method/risk/health and safety statements, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Review and apply testing and commissioning programs and processes, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with client engineering departments to discuss design changes in construction, providing technical solutions.
  • Respond to RFIs, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
Pre-Tender Activities:
  • Review and advise on cost estimation of works and materials, ensuring accurate budgeting.
  • Ensure tenders received from bidders meet required specifications, assisting in the development of the company's bidding/supply chain.
  • Advise the estimating team on costs of M&E design, ensuring client requirements are correctly interpreted and taken into account.
  • Evaluate all tender returns from subcontractors for inclusion into the company's tender.
  • Review M&E design information at tender stage, undertaking full design gap analysis to advise the estimating team of any design shortfalls.
  • Produce value engineering options, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluate potential costs for statutory services as budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning.
  • Attend site visits during the tender process, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist in tender settlements, ensuring smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
  • BSC or MSc degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of experience, with 8 years in a similar role.
  • Participation in airport projects for a minimum of 7 years, with contractor experience in a similar role highly appreciated.
  • High level of energy and drive, combined with strong customer service skills, to ensure a quality M&E management service is delivered.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with good organizing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop relationships within the business and externally with clients, demonstrating tact, discretion, and confidentiality as required.
  • Membership of CIBSE is desirable but not essential.
Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity.
  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal/external correspondence.
  • Understanding of budget development and cost accounting.
  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment, developing relationships that comply with the client's proactive, collaborative culture.
