We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Health eCareers. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Teamwork
- Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Demonstrate a professional, supportive attitude and identify and support new ideas.
- Utilize effective communication strategies, including chain of command and issue escalation, to achieve intended outcomes.
- Nursing Process
- Correctly identify patients and scheduled procedures.
- Perform patient care activities, within the scope of competency, considering age-related needs of the patients as assigned.
- Collect data and provide information in a timely manner to the registered nurse, which may assist in the revision of the plan of care.
- Clinical Outcomes
- Apply standard precautions and maintain a safe environment for self and others.
- Observe patient/family conditions and report to the registered nurse sudden changes or unusual findings.
- Customer Service
- Practice customer service standards as defined by the Service Area, Medical Center, and specific department.
- Anticipate the customer's desires, take proactive steps to meet those needs, and ensure issues are resolved.
- Team Commitment
- Viewed by others as an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others.
- Confront difficult or conflict situations constructively and seek appropriate assistance.
- Education
- Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
- Experience
- Two (2) years within the last three years operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience, including a variety of surgical procedures.
- Certification
- Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery from National Center for Competency Testing.
