About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a key member of our project delivery portfolio, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers on various oil and gas projects.



Key Responsibilities



  • Leading a team of engineers and designers to deliver civil and structural design calculations and drawings within stipulated timelines.
  • Developing sustainable and efficient structural designs from conceptual stages through detailed design stages.
  • Analyzing various structural conditions including in-place, preservice, spectral fatigue, seismic, pushover, and jacket mating for fixed platforms and offshore structures.
  • Providing guidance and technical support to engineers and designers for secondary/miscellaneous calculations and detailing/drawing.
  • Preparing specifications for design basis reports and soil investigations as per client requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams for optimizing layouts and general arrangements of structures and resolving interference issues.
  • Coordinating with other departments, projects teams, and site teams for inputs and comments on civil and structural drawings before submission to clients for approval.
  • Engaging in technical discussions with subcontractor consultants for reviewing and approving drawing and design calculations.
  • Utilizing industry software such as 3D Model Review Tools (SPR & Navis Works), MS Office Suite, etc.
  • Reviewing geotechnical reports and interpreting soil parameters for analysis and design of shallow and pile foundations.
  • Participating in project coordination meetings with sites, vendors, review consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues and prioritize engineering activities to meet project schedules.
  • Evaluating supplier/subcontractor bids for compliance with company specifications and scopes of work.
  • Making site visits to resolve construction problems and site mismatches related to drawings issued for construction.
  • Providing pre-bid engineering support by calculating architectural, civil, and structural BOQs.
  • Preparation of standard spreadsheets, auditing, and approving standard design programs/templates related to civil and structural engineering.
  • Promoting an organization culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation, and supports development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements



  • ADNOC offshore brownfield project experience.
  • Experience of weight control for offshore platforms.
  • Experience of design and installation to ADNOC and international standards for offshore platforms.
  • Experience of working with fabricators for offshore projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including a minimum of five (5) years in the GCC region.
  • Candidates with Master's in Structural Engineering are preferred.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar positions in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing teams of specialists, senior engineers, and engineers.
  • Expert in using structural software such as SACS, STAAD Pro, intermediate knowledge on FEM software like ANSYS & FEMAP, review software like TEKLA & NAVIS, and conversant in mathematical tools like Mathcad and MS Excel.
  • Familiar with international codes and standards like API, AISC, ISO, EN1993 (EURO), BS, ABS, and DNVGL. Also conversant of ADNOC design standards.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing with other disciplines and multinational workforces.

Wood offers a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
