Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MATERIALS ENGINEER to join our team in this challenging role.

Key responsibilities include preparing asphalt mix designs, conducting plant trials, interacting with consultants and clients, controlling non-conforming products, maintaining quality management documents, and more.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, materials science, and engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare asphalt mix designs of various types, i.e., Base, Binder, and Wearing course.
  2. Conduct plant trials to ensure the quality of concrete mix.
  3. Interact with consultants and clients for day-to-day activities that take place at site regarding workmanship of the product quality standard maintained for the work.
  4. Control of non-conforming products at site and inspection of all incoming materials to the site.
  5. Ensure maintenance of all quality management documents and records viz plans, inspection, test records, and checklists.
  6. Developing, modifying, testing, and evaluating materials.
  7. Provide technical advice about the suitability of materials and diagnosing faults.
  8. Advising on, planning, and organizing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  9. Oversee operational quality control processes.
  10. Liaise with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing/development staff.
  11. Supervise technical staff.
  12. Conduct and ensure in-depth fracture analysis and technical reports.
  13. Maintain cycle time objectives within responsibility areas.
  14. Address materials and process concerns from suppliers, manufacturing, and customers.
  15. Offer material information and data to engineering.
  16. Update material logs.
  17. Test at external sources.
  18. Interpret results, write reports, and communicate with client representative engineers.
  19. Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  20. Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality.
  21. Design and direct the testing and/or control of processing procedures.
  22. Determine appropriate methods for construction of works.
  23. Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
  24. Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material testing procedures that meet project specifications and performance standards.
  25. Review material submittals and make recommendations for material selection based on specification objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost.
