Job Overview
We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Financial Specialist to join our Planning & Reporting Group within the HR & Corporate Services Business Line. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of financial principles, a knack for analyzing complex datasets, and a proven track record of delivering insightful financial guidance. This pivotal role will be crucial in offering strategic financial advice to senior leadership, assisting in the analysis of financial statements, forecasting business performance, and translating this information into actionable business recommendations.
The HR&CS division is a diverse and manpower-intensive organization, employing approximately 15,000 individuals across various sub-organizations, including Human Resources, Training & Development, Safety & Security, Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Community Services, Transportation, and Medical Services Support.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting thorough analyses of financial data, including company financials, market trends, and economic indicators to derive meaningful insights.
- Creating and implementing sophisticated financial models and forecasts to guide strategic decision-making.
- Assessing potential investment opportunities to optimize returns.
- Producing detailed financial reports and engaging presentations.
- Meticulously managing budgets and maintaining accurate expense tracking records.
- Collaborating with various departments to address financial challenges and foster cross-functional solutions.
- Providing insightful financial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders based on comprehensive analyses and projections.
- Staying informed on relevant financial regulations and emerging trends to ensure proactive compliance and informed decision-making.
- Contributing to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) by reviewing and offering relevant advice to support accurate planning, forecasting, and budgeting, thereby facilitating critical business decisions and ensuring the organization's financial health.
Qualifications:
- This position requires the candidate to relocate permanently.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive financial experience, including providing financial review and support for new ventures or organizations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling software such as Excel and Bloomberg for developing complex financial models.
- Demonstrated expertise in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with a proven ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
