About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist - Engineering Expert to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fire safety strategies and designs that meet local and international codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop fire safety strategies and designs that comply with NFPA Codes and Standards, International Building Code IBC, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, Saudi Building Code, and British Standards.
  • Conduct occupant load calculations, fire zoning, travel distance, and means of egress to ensure safe and efficient building designs.
  • Prepare fire safety submissions to Dubai Civil Defense and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, and negotiate with authorities for approval on fire safety designs and proposals.
  • Review drawings to identify any non-compliance with applicable codes and standards, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead fire safety projects independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects from inception to completion.
  • Utilize CAD and Revit software to create and edit designs, and maintain proficiency in industry-standard tools and technologies.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized university, with a specialization in Fire Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in fire safety consulting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions.
