As Counsel / Senior Counsel - Public Sector Operations, you will provide critical legal advice and support to our public sector investment operations. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with our social and environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Strategic Legal Advice: Offer expert legal guidance on public sector investment operations, ensuring alignment with AIIB's mandate, policies, and procedures.
- Negotiate Agreements: Participate in negotiations of legal agreements, utilizing your strong communication skills to secure favorable outcomes.
- Prepare Complex Legal Documents: Draft and prepare various legal documents, including opinions, studies, briefs, reports, correspondence, memoranda, agreements, contracts, and other materials related to investment operations.
- Support Public Sector Operations: Provide comprehensive legal support throughout the project cycle, from preparation to implementation and monitoring.
Requirements:
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 5-8 years (for Counsel) and 8-10 years (for Senior Counsel) of post-qualification practice experience, preferably in a top-tier international law firm or with an international financial organization.
- Sovereign Loan Experience: Relevant professional experience with sovereign loans, guarantees, and/or private-public partnership projects and loan/financing/guarantee agreements is highly valued.
- Excellent Communication Skills: An excellent command of English, including drafting and negotiating legal documents in English, is essential.
- Collaboration and Resourcefulness: Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at a high level.
- Cross-Cultural Environment: Experience working collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment is highly desirable.
- LLM Degree and Qualifications: An LLM degree, J.D., or equivalent, and qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
