Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Shou. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical tasks, including installation, adjustment, servicing, and repair of various mechanical equipment and parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical repairs, PMs, and fabrication, including pipefitting, rigging, assembly, and disassembly of plant operation equipment, conveyors, piping, pump valves, etc.
  • Assist with job details, develop and use sketches, blueprints, and complex drawings.
  • Consult with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards.
  • Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble, and adjust conveyors, turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Inspect and lubricate plant equipment routinely and make necessary adjustments for efficient operation.
  • Perform heavy lifting and rigging.
  • Use torch and welding equipment for repair welding.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs, piping, and valve packing.
  • Perform integrity tests on piping and plant equipment.
  • Work in both plant and outdoor areas.
  • Work at height (e.g., scaffolding and ladders).
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certifications.
  • HSE accredited training qualifications.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanic Technician.
  • Ability to study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of machine shop procedures, math, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
  • Advanced skills in coupling alignments, close tolerance fitting, valves, and high-pressure steam systems.
  • Understanding of lock-out procedures and forklift training and certification.
  • Familiarity with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements for safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Ability to operate pipe threading and milling machines for pipefitting.
  • Possession of current certification in structural steel welding for basic welding tasks.
  • Ability to cut and fabricate advanced fabrications using oxy-acetylene techniques.
