Position Overview

As a Lead Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of radiographic procedures in accordance with the highest standards of medical imaging practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting Radiographic Procedures: Execute all general and specialized radiographic examinations, including but not limited to Mammography, Interventional/Fluoroscopy Radiography, and Portable Radiography.
  • Patient Interaction: Instruct and assist patients during procedures, ensuring comfort and safety while selecting appropriate techniques and calibrating equipment for optimal image quality.
  • Review and Preparation: Assess examination requests and previous imaging studies to ensure comprehensive understanding before conducting procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean, stock, and verify the functionality of imaging equipment and accessories to maintain a safe operational environment.
  • Room Management: Ensure cleanliness and organization of imaging rooms at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists to meet all procedural requirements and support their imaging needs.
  • Patient Scheduling: Manage patient appointments for imaging procedures as necessary.
  • Emergency Procedures: Evaluate and prioritize critical and emergency imaging requests in accordance with radiologist directives.
  • Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols, including verifying Low Malignant Potential (LMP) in female patients of childbearing age and ensuring protection of sensitive areas.
  • Specialized Safety Measures: Follow all safety protocols specific to specialized imaging areas, including MRI safety screening and contrast assessments.
  • Administrative Support: Perform additional administrative tasks, including filing and clerical duties, as needed.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional growth through seminars, workshops, and affiliations to stay updated on advancements in the field.
  • Quality Improvement: Assist the Technical Director of Medical Imaging in coordinating departmental quality enhancement and educational initiatives.
