GEMS Dubai American Academy is an international school that offers both an enriched American Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma to students from around the world. We are seeking a dedicated Science teacher to join our team from August 2025.
Job ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include teaching Science lessons, developing effective teaching strategies, collaborating with colleagues, and differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Science at high school level, preferably within an American/IB curriculum school. Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning and hands-on Science education is also required.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to high school students following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to foster critical thinking skills and a love for Science.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree plus a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics). Proven experience teaching Science at high school level is essential. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary for building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Science at high school level.
