Job Description

**Job Title:** Lead Telecom Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Telecom Engineer to join our team at Wood. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of complex telecoms systems in large Oil & Gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and implementation of telecoms systems, including OTN, UHF TETRA VHF radio systems, IP networks, security systems, and public/emergency announcement systems.
  2. Develop and maintain technical standards and specifications for telecoms systems, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver telecoms projects, including design, construction, and operations.
  4. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  5. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design standards and specifications.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of telecoms equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 15 years' experience working in telecoms, with a strong background in design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, and onshore and offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
  2. Proven track record of delivering complex telecoms projects, including multiple vendor projects within international settings.
  3. Hands-on expertise and design experience with telecoms equipment and systems, including OTN, UHF TETRA VHF radio systems, IP networks, security systems, and public/emergency announcement systems.
  4. Proficient in fiber optic cabling network design, copper cable networks, and relevant infrastructure such as duct banks and cable/ladder tray designs.
  5. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  6. Good oral and written English skills, with the ability to produce fluent documents, reports, and technical notes.
