- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage the purchase of supplies, including plant material, fertilizers, and pesticides, and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Market Analysis and Recommendations: Monitor market conditions and provide recommendations for crop rotation and other operational decisions.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to food safety, environmental regulations, and labor laws.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including crop yields, expenses, and revenues, and provide regular reports to management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in farm management or a related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of crop production and protection practices, experience with budget management and financial analysis, and proficiency in the use of technology and farm management software.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced agricultural environment, with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 pounds are required.
