We are seeking a talented Engineering Operations Director to join our team at Amazon. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of our data centers in India.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and operations management, with experience managing large-scale services. You will lead a team of shift engineers, senior shift technicians, and sub-contractors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
You will also participate in strategic planning projects, conduct financial analysis, and contribute to financial decisions. Additionally, you will manage 5 or more direct reports, negotiate contracts and space, and oversee the build out of facility-specific infrastructure in existing locations.
Responsibilities- Critical Infrastructure Management: Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Team Management: Leads a team of shift engineers, senior shift technicians, chief engineer, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Project Management: Will conduct Project Management for multiple sites.
- Education: An engineering degree or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience managing large scale services.
- Leadership: At least 3 years building strong, successful technical teams in a similar culture.
