Private Debt Portfolio Manager

A Private Debt Associate plays a critical role in the Banking and Financial Services sector. This individual will be responsible for managing debt portfolios and providing expert financial guidance.
This position requires a deep understanding of financial markets and strong analytical skills. As a Private Debt Associate, you will support the team in sourcing, underwriting, and managing private debt investments, contributing to the growth of the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Investment Analysis: Assist with investment opportunity analysis, conduct financial modeling, and perform thorough due diligence on potential borrowers.
- Deal Execution: Support debt transaction structuring and negotiation, and help prepare investment materials, term sheets, and presentations.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments, reporting on key financial metrics and credit performance.
- Market Research Reporting: Conduct research on market trends, industry dynamics, and competitors to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, portfolio managers, and legal teams.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in private debt, private credit, or leveraged finance.
- Skills: Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of debt instruments and credit markets.
- Education: A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. A CFA or similar qualification is desirable.
- Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills. A team-oriented mindset is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling tools. Knowledge of financial databases and deal management systems is beneficial.
