This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in landscape design and engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, scheduling, supervising, and exercising administrative authority over all field of engineering work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to the construction team and produce designs as required during construction work.
  • Design Guidance: Provide guidance and resolve design-related challenges promptly and efficiently.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of design-related decisions, modifications, and internal approvals during the construction phase.
  • Design Changes: Highlight any design changes or deviations and provide necessary updates to the project management team and involved stakeholders.
  • Service Design: Design all services and coordinate with relevant authorities.
  • Plan Preparation: Prepare plans and cross-sections detailing all new service reservations required for the works.
  • Landscape Design: Design landscaping, road work, infrastructure, storm water, road marking, signage, public realm, landscaping, etc.
  • Shop Drawings: Review all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and requests for information relating to infrastructure, landscaping, irrigation, and associated works.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
  • Diary Maintenance: Maintain the Resident Engineer's daily diary and daily diaries and reports by subordinates.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
  • Construction Supervision: Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of landscaping, irrigation, and associated works.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with the client/PMC, the Contractor, and related concerned authorities.
  • Contractual Matters: Advise on contractual and design/construction matters regarding utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions, and other related works.
  • Progress Monitoring: Supervise, review, monitor, and report on the progress of the design of landscaping, irrigation, and associated works.
  • Site Safety: Liaise with all parties for site safety.
  • Site Meetings: Convene and chair regular site meetings about design issues related to infrastructure and landscaping work and related activities.
  • Drawings: Issue additional drawings as required in coordination with the design office.
  • Correspondence: Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
  • Records: Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Safety Goals: Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
  • Health and Safety: Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Project Safety Representatives.
  • Compliance: Comply with safety, health, and risk management requirements.
  • Site Instructions: Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions for landscape, irrigation, and other related activities.
  • Work Measurement: Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs programmed work.
  • Progress Reports: Prepare progress reports as applicable.
  • As-Built Drawings: Ensure correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings in the area of his discipline.
  • Contract Administration: Participate in contract administration.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural or related field with 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity. Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.
  • Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project-specific engineering and construction relevant software.
  • Registered as practicing engineer with ADM or should have an equivalency certificate from ministry of education.
Desired Skills:

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices.

Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.
