About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Regional Coordinator for the Middle East region.

This two-year position offers a unique opportunity to lead and represent the voice of young space leaders in the Middle East region, particularly with the expanding activities and excitement in the space sector.

About the Role:

  • Represent the views of the region on the SGAC Executive Committee
  • Coordinate regional activities and oversee the work of National Points of Contact
  • Vote on SGAC matters at the Executive Committee level
  • Elected RCs will replace the outgoing Regional Coordinator and work closely with the current RC

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement regional plans and strategies
  2. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
  3. Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members
  4. Provide guidance and support to National Points of Contact
  5. Attend regional and global meetings, conferences, and events

Requirements:

  • Citizenship of a UN member or observer state located in the region
  • Be a motivated young professional or student between the age of 18 and 33
  • Secure the nomination of two National Points of Contact in the region
  • Regional Coordinators should preferably be residents in the region they represent
  • Experience/familiarity with the space sector
  • Teamwork capacity and proven leadership skills
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google apps
  • Professional Fluency (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in English
  • Awareness of international cooperation principles, concepts and techniques
  • Cross-Cultural and Communication Awareness: Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with people from various international and cultural backgrounds
