Job Description:

The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for applying best practices and industry knowledge to enhance the commissioning discipline within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Commissioning Manager and Principal Commissioning Engineer in home office deliverables preparation
  • Participate in walk-down inspections, punch listing, and testing at the site, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical & instrument component issues
  • Collaborate with the Project team and Client to maintain positive relationships
  • Support the commissioning team with activities such as:
    • Manuals development
    • Commissioning and Start-up Spares development
    • First Fills and Consumables development
    • Commissioning, and Start-Up Procedures
    • Discipline Equipment system checks and tests
    • Function testing of mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems
    • Participation in Commissioning, Start-Up, and Performance Testing
    • Resolution of operational and maintenance issues during Commissioning, Start-Up, and Performance Tests
  • Supervise craft personnel for site pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Coordinate activities with other engineers in the commissioning team

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 8-15 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant
  • Requires a good understanding of commissioning, completions, and training concepts, principles, and practices
  • Possess a degree or diploma in engineering (preferable)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or oil & gas processing facility
  • Previous commissioning and start-up experience in the chemical, refinery, or oil & gas industry (preferably 2+ years)
  • Effective communication of technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and organizational skills
  • Able to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations clearly
  • Will to travel to international sites for assignments
  • English proficiency; multi-language skills are a plus
